Ark Food Package
Project Summary
The Ark Food Package Project is a humanitarian initiative aimed at alleviating food insecurity and supporting vulnerable families by providing essential food and hygiene items. The project is anchored in compassion, dignity, and community responsibility, ensuring that no family is left without the basic necessities of life—especially during times of festivity and hardship.
We distribute food packages to approximately 100 families every month, and significantly scale up to 300 families during Christmas and Easter, when the need and emotional impact are both at their highest.
Background
Pakistan is home to a vibrant Christian minority, comprising approximately 1.5% of the population. Despite their deep-rooted presence in the country, Christians often face social, economic, and systemic marginalization. Many are confined to low-income jobs such as sanitation work, domestic labor, or daily-wage employment—fields that offer little job security or social mobility.
Due to these constraints, a significant portion of Christian families live below the poverty line, struggling to meet basic needs. Access to quality education, healthcare, and stable employment remains limited. Discrimination can further limit opportunities, especially in rural areas and urban slums.
These challenges are compounded during religious festivals and economic downturns. While most communities look forward to celebrating Christmas and Easter with joy, many Christian families in Pakistan are burdened by the inability to afford even daily meals, let alone festive provisions. This harsh reality underscores the need for targeted support and community-based initiatives like the Ark Food Package Project.
